In this article, it is not exactly about a weapon, but an event that includes it (hard to explain, read the article.) Obama and the Pentagon were planning to get rid of some nuclear weapons from the cold war to save money, such as the B-52 bomber, the U-2 spy plane, and the foundation of nuclear deterrence strategy. This is "triad of weapons, that can be launched from land, sea and air.

Some people have argued that these weapons need to stay. That has successfully extended the lifespan of these weapons. But others argue that the people are being irrational and that we still have enough weapons even without these. People are saying that the government should do away with at least one section of the nuclear deterrence strategy. Others are saying that the US has enough operational nuclear weapons, about 5,000. That is half as many as a decade ago. It is a controversial issue, my personal opinion would go with the second, but read the article and choose your own.
